How many years have you been in the school business profession?
Eleven years
How did you first learn about and then become involved in the school business profession?
I started my career as a state auditor. I became very interested in schools and the school business profession after many conversations with different treasurers.
What is your proudest career accomplishment?
Tough one! The one that immediately comes to mind is our most recent Capital Campaign through our School's Foundation, which I was an active member of. The campaign generated over $1.8 million in donations, which will go toward improvements at our outdoor facilities, including a new playground, updated baseball and softball fields, and additional green space for lacrosse and soccer.
What do you feel is the most important part of your job?
Ensuring every financial decision strengthens our ability to educate students and provide the most unique experiences today while protecting the district's finances for generations to come.
What is one thing you feel makes your district unique in the state?
What makes Ottawa Hills Local School District unique is the strong partnership between our schools and our community. Our residents place an extraordinary value on education and have consistently demonstrated their willingness to invest in providing outstanding opportunities for students. At the same time, that investment comes with high expectations for transparency, fiscal responsibility, and educational excellence. This creates a culture where every decision is carefully considered through the lens of student success, stewardship of taxpayer resources, and continuous improvement. It's a district where financial decisions, academic achievement, and community engagement are all closely connected, making collaboration and trust essential to our success.
What is at the top of your professional bucket list?
The one thing that I haven't done yet is to provide testimony in front of the Ohio House of Representatives or the Ohio Senate

I am addicted to golf

What has been the best, or your favorite part of being involved in OASBO?
My favorite part about being involved in OASBO is the relationships that I have made with colleagues. It is nice to know that everyone else is going through similar issues at their districts, and being able to bounce ideas off each other, whether through collaborate or in person, is very helpful!
