How many years have you been in the school business profession?

Nine+ years.

How did you first learn about and then become involved in the school business profession?
I performed audits, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures for school districts as a staff member at Kennedy Cottrell Richards.

What is your proudest career accomplishment?
It would have to be able to serve as President/Director for local accounting associations and instill change to help lead the organizations into the future.

What do you feel is the most important part of your job?
Communication with the district employees and the community.

What is at the top of your professional bucket list?
To survive enough contracts in order to retire with a lasting stamp on a school district.

What is at the top of your personal bucket list?
Visiting all 50 States (I am at 32 now).

Who is your hero?
My parent's sacrifice has always been appreciated.

What is something your colleagues would be surprised to learn about you?
I have never drunk coffee or tea before.

If you were an office supply item, which would you be and why?
I would be a paper clip. I try to hold everything together.

A bear. I am ready for hibernation.

Memorizing USAS coding.

When people find out where I am from they always ask what is a Golden Gale.

Nine+ years

How and/or why did you first get involved in OASBO?
I was required by my treasurer when I started.

What roles/positions have you held in OASBO?
I have held all positions in the Central Chapter of OASBO including Director and Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

What has been the best, or your favorite part of being involved in OASBO?
Networking at events (Back when that happened pre-COVID).

Why should someone get involved?
Get involved to network with others and contribute to our profession to move it forward.

Where should someone start to get involved?
Start on a committee and move in a role with your chapter.
