How many years have you been in the school business profession?

Ten years!

How did you first learn about and then become involved in the school business profession?

I was at a career fair at Youngstown State University and took an internship with the Ohio Auditor of State. After 5 years with AOS, I joined Akron Public Schools as the accountant.

What is your proudest career accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is building a shared services model that supports multiple school districts while mentoring treasurers across all experience levels. I’ve helped lead teams, manage complex budgets, and guide peers through audits, forecasts, and board communication. Seeing others grow into confident leaders because of that support is what I’m most proud of.

What do you feel is the most important part of your job?

The most important part of my job at ESCNEO is being a reliable, strategic partner to our member districts and. Through clear financial leadership and open communication, I help support the services and decisions that impact students across the region.

What is one thing you feel makes your position unique in the state?

What makes ESCNEO unique is its scale and impact — we don’t serve just one district, we support dozens. That means every day we’re building customized solutions, navigating diverse challenges, and helping districts across the region deliver better outcomes for students. The collaborative nature and broad service model of ESCNEO truly set it apart in Ohio.

What is at the top of your professional bucket list?

At the top of my professional bucket list is contributing to a more equitable and sustainable school funding model in Ohio. Every student—regardless of ZIP code—deserves access to high-quality educational opportunities, and I believe school finance professionals can help drive that vision by advocating for funding systems that are fair, transparent, and responsive to local needs.

What is something your colleagues would be surprised to learn about you?

I have five younger siblings! Four sisters and a brother.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

Hawk

Favorite TV Show?

The Last of Us

Favorite Movie?

La La Land

Favorite Food?

Grandma's manicotti!

What is one of your favorite expressions?

Teamwork makes the dream work!

When someone finds out what you do, what's one of the first questions they always ask you?

The first thing people usually ask is, “What’s an Educational Service Center?” Then once I explain that I’m a school treasurer who doesn’t work for just one district, but helps manage finances, services, and strategy for dozens, the follow-up is usually, “So you must be really good at spreadsheets?”

What has been the best, or your favorite part, of being involved in OASBO?
Working the registration desk at annual conference! I was able to meet so many new people in that task!
