Gov. DeWine’s office released some additional details related to the allocation of the $100 million K-12 School Safety Grant Program. His office announced that nearly $47 million of the available $100 million will be allocated to schools who applied for the School Safety Grant Program last year, but did not receive funding due to insufficient funds. The Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC), in partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), will begin accepting applications in the coming weeks for the $53 million in funds remaining in the K-12 School Safety Grant Program. Schools that have not yet applied for funding or whose applications were ineligible in previous rounds will be given first priority.

Work funded under this grant must be contracted by Dec. 31, 2023, and completed by Sept. 30, 2024, unless otherwise approved by OFCC.
