The House Ways and Means Committee heard proponent testimony this week on House Bill (HB) 458.
HB 458 eliminates generally the option for a political subdivision or taxing authority to hold a special election in August, except when held at the same time as a special election to nominate or elect a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives.
HB 458 was referred to Committee late last month. Sponsor testimony was provided on November 9th, and proponent testimony on Tuesday, November 16th. We will keep members updated on future hearings.
