Legislative Tracking Tool – New Legislation Introduced

By Katie Johnson posted 09-27-2021 04:15 PM

You can find information and the status of pending bills by using the OASBO Legislative Tracking Tool. The Legislative Tracking Tool is updated weekly when the General Assembly is in session. It provides information on pending legislation introduced by the 134th General Assembly that impacts public education. The bills are listed in descending order by the last action date. Links are included to the respective bill pages with additional information, such as the Legislative Service Commission (LSC) analysis and fiscal notes.

As noted in the Tracking Tool, the Senate Ways & Means Committee held hearings on HB 126 (BOR Property Value Complaints Process) and HB 140 (Ballot Language for Levies) last week; however, opponent testimony has not been scheduled for this week. We will keep members updated on opportunities to provide opponent testimony.

This week, the Senate Primary and Secondary Education Committee will hear testimony on September 28 on Senate Bill (SB) 229 regarding the use of a blended learning model by public and chartered nonpublic schools during the 2021-22 school year.

Please check the Advocacy Hub for additional updates. Also, please be sure to share your thoughts and ideas with members to prepare for testimony and other related topics.
