We have learned of an amendment to House Bill 442 that would eliminate various state-required licenses. Most concerning is elimination of licensure requirements for school treasurers and business managers. Click here to view the amendment to HB 442 that is moving through the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Workforce Committee this week, with a hearing scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. See proposed licensure changes beginning on Line 1764.
Thank you for your help on all our advocacy efforts the past couple of months. We need your assistance on this issue as well. Please contact the Senators below and highlight: (i) the complexities of the position of the chief financial officer and/or business manager of a school district and (ii) the necessity to have a state-required license to ensure that competent and qualified individuals serve in these roles.
