This afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine released his biennial budget proposal for fiscal years 2024 and 2025. The proposal continues the implementation of the Fair School Funding Plan. In addition to continuing the implementation of the plan, the Governor announced that his proposal includes funding for school resource officers, investments for career technical education centers, and access to high quality curriculum aligned to the science of reading, among other initiatives.
The administration’s budget documents – known as the “Blue Book” – will be released soon and will outline the details of the Governor’s proposal. The actual budget legislation usually emerges a few days after the release of the "Blue Book" and related documents. Once the bill text and simulations become available, we will provide a webinar to provide an overview of the proposal.
