The House considered the Senate’s amendments to HB 126 during yesterday’s session and voted 0-90 not to concur. The bill now goes back to the Senate where it will determine whether to insist on its amendments. It is likely that the Senate will insist on its amendments, which will trigger a conference committee to be formed to negotiate a compromise.
Thank you for your time and efforts in advocating against HB 126. We know school district leaders from across the state reached out to their legislators to urge a vote of nonconcurrence.
We will keep you updated on next steps and the naming of conference committee members from each chamber.
