House Bill (HB) 110, the biennium budget bill, is nearing the end of the hearing process in the House of Representatives. In the next week or so, the House is expected to introduce a substitute bill reflecting the recommendations of the House Finance Committee and its subcommittees. The Senate Finance Committee and its subcommittees typically begin their hearings on the biennium budget bill while it is still in the House Finance Committee due to the limited time available for the Senate’s consideration. As such, the Senate Finance Committee has scheduled its first hearing on HB 110 for this week on April 14.
We anticipate that HB 1, the Fair School Funding Plan (FSFP), will be incorporated into the substitute bill to HB 110 introduced in the House. Once introduced, Sub. HB 110 will be considered and amended in full committee, reported, and sent to the House floor for consideration. Additional details on the Sub. HB 110 will be provided soon after its introduction in the House.
